Welcome to the XML/SGML Forum of New York (name pending). We are pleased to announce that the SGML Forum has revived its series of informative programming for the XML/SGML community. Please see our Events page for information about our next meetings. XML and its related standards are broadly recognized as a key to bringing intelligent and dynamic content to the Web. Applications as diverse as e-commerce, ebooks, and corporate intranets all depend on XML as a core enabling technology. Like HTML before it, XML is based on SGML, the Standard Generalized Markup Language. The SGML Forum of New York promotes the wider acceptance and effective implementation of SGML, XML and related standards. We also seek to influence the development of tools and technologies supporting these standards' application to composition, databases, online information delivery, electronic commerce, and other structured information environments. |
