Next-Wave Publishing: Revolutions in Process and Content
Business gloom in the post-dot-com years may not have prepared you for the next round of innovation, but it's coming. Industry analyst Mark Walter kicks off the re-opening of the SGML/XML Forum with forward-thinking look at the next cycle of investment and technology innovation that will fuel dramatic changes in publishing.
About the presenter:
A 20-year veteran of the publishing industry, Mark Walter is a market analyst and consultant specializing in emerging publishing technologies. A long-time editor of The Seybold Report, Mark has been tracking the use of SGML and XML in publishing since 1987, writing reviews of SGML/ XML-related products ranging from Arbortext's editor to Xyvision's content-management system. From 1997 to 1999 he served as Editorial Director of XML.com, a leading Web resource for XML professionals. More recently, his end-user consulting projects have included strategy planning, competitive intelligence, content-management assessments, and assistance with system selection for firms such as McKesson, the American Medical Association, and Primedia.
